Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Pendidikan Karakter Islami: Studi Pengabdian pada Komunitas Marginal Perkotaan

Abstract


This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of Islamic character education in community service programs targeting marginalized urban communities. Islamic character education is viewed as a strategic approach to empowering communities facing social, economic, and moral challenges. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive method with a participatory community service approach. The subjects include marginalized community members, local leaders, and community service teams. Data were collected through field observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, the findings reveal that Islamic character education emphasizing honesty, discipline, cooperation, and social care significantly improves moral awareness and social participation within the community. The program was implemented through religious training, family mentoring, and community-based educational activities. Positive impacts include behavioral changes, increased social solidarity, and heightened awareness of the importance of education for children in marginalized areas. This study concludes that Islamic character education serves as an effective instrument for empowering marginalized urban communities.
